As you may know the Sun Tavern is proud to help support our local fisherman, which is not only good for our economy, it enables us to serve our guests the absolute freshest fish available anywhere. This program also allows the local fishermen to compete with the larger, national and international fishing companies. The “day boat” fish we have been featuring this summer, and continue to feature, are caught in the local waters off the coast of Massachusetts in the early morning. The boat is met at the dock by our fish partner who hand selects the fish right off the boat and delivers it to us in the afternoon. Chef Gary works his magic and is able to offer an incredibly fresh dish for our guests that same night. We’ve had Pollock out of Gloucester, Black Back Flounder out of Plymouth and Hyannis, Yellow tail Sole out of Scituate to name just a few. This morning, we received word that some beautiful local black bass will be coming to us today and tomorrow which we will be featuring on the menu.
